On June 15–17, 2026, Vytautas Magnus University in Kaunas, Lithuania, hosted the Comparative Analysis Workshop, organized within the framework of the international project SEDWU — Electronic Document Workflow for Universities: Enhancing Efficiency, Autonomy and European Integration.
The workshop focused on discussing current document workflows within Ukrainian universities, exchanging best practices and identifying effective solutions for the digital transformation of higher education institutions. Participants presented the experience of their universities, discussed the challenges of implementing electronic document workflow systems, and considered opportunities to strengthen institutional efficiency, autonomy and the integration of Ukrainian universities into the European Higher Education Area.
SEDWU is an international Erasmus+ CBHE project co-funded by the European Union. Its aim is to support the development of modern, scalable, adaptive and secure electronic document workflow solutions for universities, as well as to contribute to the digital modernization of Ukrainian higher education institutions.
The programme of the workshop included presentations by project partners, discussions on the readiness of Ukrainian and European universities for a shared European future, and sessions dedicated to digital transformation and information systems at Vytautas Magnus University. Special attention was also paid to the implementation of SEDWU, including the WP2 report, project planning, budgeting and reporting.
Participants also visited university facilities and laboratories, where they learned about practical examples of innovation, AI integration in hydroponics and the application of precision farming technologies.
The Comparative Analysis Workshop in Kaunas became an important step in strengthening cooperation between SEDWU partners, coordinating further project implementation and exchanging experience in the field of digital governance in universities.
